AURORA - INTELLIGENT URBAN AIR MOBILITY

The EU-funded AURORA project aims at connecting technologies and key actors to foster the adoption of Urban Air Mobility (UAM). Focusing on emergency-related applications, Robodrone participated in development of intelligent, urban autonomous flight solutions for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and self-piloting passenger-carrying VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft.

MoNIfly: Mobile-Network Infrastructure for UAV Surveillance.

In 2016 the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) defined three drone categories: open, specific and certified. The MoNIfly project targets the open and specific categories by proposing a drone traffic management system based on mobile network infrastructure. The 3 year project started in 2017 and its purpose was to find innovative solutions to reduce risk of collisions of drones with static obstacles, other drones or aircraft/helicopters.

BBC News - The snow patrol drones saving skiers from an icy death

In mid-2015 Robodrone signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Czech Mountain Rescue Service to develop an integrated solution to detect people buried by avalanches. Our Avalanche Scan Set searches for acoustic signal, the signal is transmitted to the headset and the markers (flags) are released manually via the radio control station. More than 90% of people buried by avalanches survive if dug out within 15 minutes. In short, when it comes to avalanches, time is of the essence.

ŠKODA AUTO tests autonomous
drone in logistics

ŠKODA AUTO is pressing with Industry 4.0 principles: at its Mladá Boleslav plant, the Czech car manufacturer is testing a drone that can identify and count containers outside the factory from the air. The drone is a result of collaboration between the ŠKODA brand’s logistics department and Robodrone, and is paving the way to implementing future drone-assisted stocktaking operations.
